From Frustration to Innovation In 2021, Christel Smeets and Bart Verdeijen took the plunge and started a company focused on vacation innovation. What drove them to do this? Frustration. “We’ve had a seasonal spot in Zeeland for 23 years,” Christel recalls. “And 10 years ago, our caravan was worn out, so we started looking for a new one. That turned out to be a disaster: those things are all so ugly! And why do they all look the same?! On top of that, the awning turned out to be completely uncomfortable in the spring and fall.
